She’s So Unusual

Category: My OutfitsEyeliah @ 11:57 pm

This is what I wore out to The Parade of Lost Souls.  It was awesome having a costume where people knew who I was as last year no one did.  To be Cyndi Lauper for the night was ridiculously fun and all I had to buy was the dress and tulle for my hair ($25 total).  Everything else I already owned, and now I have a go to crazy 80s dress. :-)   I literally didn’t get one full picture of my costume while I was out, which is why I’m posting these.
Would love to know….. what did you wear for Halloween??

Pouting Child

Category: My OutfitsEyeliah @ 4:15 pm

It was a nobrainer for me to last minute dress up as a pouting child today for Halloween, I’m sure this face looks familiar to my family, lol. And I’m finally wearing my kissing turtles sweater!

Atleast one more costume to come later. :-)

Happy Halloween! Last Minute Costumes!

Category: ProjectsEyeliah @ 11:40 am

If you are like me and a total procrastinator with your Halloween costume, don’t worry – there’s still hope! So many ideas can be found right in most closets. Here are some last minute costume ideas, most of which I’ve done.

Mime – striped shirt, black and white makeup (baby powdered face and eyeliner if you don’t have white base), black, pants, gloves.

Flower Child – long wig if you have it, headband, bell bottoms, tie dye top, ink peace signs etc on your arms.

Harajuku Girl – bright blush and makeup, striped tights, platform or kitten heels, legwarmers, pigtails, mini skirt, tutu, giggling required.

Grapes – okay you’d need to pick up a bunch of purple or green balloons, pin to any clothes in similar shades, so much fun to be popped thru the night.

Schoolgirl/Gossip Girl – plaid skirt, perfectly centered tie, bowtie or scarf, kneesocks, headband, schoolbook, bitchy face optional.

50’s Housewife – any fabulous a line day dress, crinoline for puffiness, apron, perfect makeup and elaborate updo.

Christmas Tree – One of my favorites, green sweater, brown pants, hook ornaments all over your sweater, if you have time craft a star for your head.

Incognito – wig or big hat, sunglasses, trench coat, when anyone tries to talk to you hide your face and turn away.

Feel free to add any other ideas in the comments! ;-)

More costume pictures to come throughout the day!

Forgive Me

Category: Media, My OutfitsEyeliah @ 11:45 am

Sorry for two outfit posts in a row but I simply could not wait to talk about the BCBGMAZAZRIA store reopening! I was invited by Fashion Magazine to attend and bring a plus one and I knew instantly I would bring fashion vixen Melody. I had never paid much attention to the label in the past so didn’t really know what to expect. As we walked up our pictures were taken on the red carpet and were handed a glass of wine before they even checked the list… glad I was on it!

P.S. These are NOT the shoes I wore, silly me took pictures in the flats I was running around getting ready in! I wore these heels. :-)

The renovations were beautiful, as to be expected but I was more interested in the clothes. We went through EVERYTHING on the main floor, enjoyed the hors d’oeuvres and then went upstairs for all the evening dresses! Silly me I didn’t know we would be allowed to touch the clothes let alone try them on! We started picking dresses left and right, Mel doubled me with her stack and she even choose a runway dress or two! Since the event was covered by press guests were not supposed to take pictures, so we did it in the change rooms. ;-) The jade green dress was my absolute favorite, I was seriously considering it even at $250 but with no real place to wear it and synthetic fibers I opted out. The black jeweled stunner made of natural fibers, fit fantastically and had pockets was $430. I watched a statuesque lady purchase it for her Christmas party (you go girl!).

So after an hour and a half of that fun! We went downstairs, mingled a lil more and tried on some of their gorgeous cardigans and blouses. I am surprised we didn’t end up buying half the store, I guess we managed to keep our composure. We decided to leave on a high note, grabbed our lovely swag and took off into the night.

I took these pictures below when I got home as I needed a better photo of my purse! Three separate sales ladies were saying they ‘remember’ my dress, but this is not BCBG. I looked online but could not find a similar dress in BCBG. I do know that Jennifer Love Hewitt wore I think the same dress on her show.
