I am so thankful for all you wonderful readers, you continually make my day and I am so happy you keep visiting, yay! Thank you Thank you Thank you!
To celebrate You and Style Symmetry’s 900th Post we are doing a Giveaway!
I came up with an awesome giveaway that goes with the thrifty nature of this blog. The giveaway is for ONE of these 5 dresses! Your choice! They are all either thrifted or off ebay and wasting away in my closet. Only one of them has been worn by me!
All you have to do is leave a comment in this post by April 11th stating which dress you want and why! This contest is open world wide so please comment away. Winner will be chosen at random.

Sherbet Striped Dress off ebay & Thrifted beige Sweater Dress with bell sleeves.

This White Nurse Dress I found on ebay can be worn for a medium to xl person, medium needs to belt it, second picture to show how it is bigger and the buttons for the xl fitting. Also has pocket and fun collar to upturn – yay!

Thrifted wrinkle free brown dress, love the bodice & Bright blue colorful batik dress off ebay.
P.S. It is after noon so this is not an April Fools prank!

How sweet of you to do a give away, I hope I win!!! That sherbert dress is simply amazing, I remember seeing it before and I think it would make me feel fruity and fresh for spring :~)
April 1st, 2009 5:49 pm
This is a swell idea! I like the sherbert one too lol, I think it would be great with my colouring and I love pastels. The “wrinkle-free” brown dress lol is something I also would wear. I could pair it with my brown boots or sandals and hey, brown always matched my eyes. Plus me loves a ragged hem
I also live a block away from you… no shipping fees!
April 1st, 2009 5:50 pm
PS 900 posts! That’s quite the achievement, bravo!

Wow! 900 posts! You are one prolific lady! I love it! Also, kudos on not repeating outfits! I aspire to be so stylish!
I’m lusting after the blue batik dress! I’ll be doing some travelling overseas and I’m on the hunt for fun summer dresses! It looks like a really sweet piece to wear out sightseeing with espadrilles, and at night with a soft cardigan with wood or tortoise buttons! (And maybe a feather hairpiece, for even more whimsy!)
Congrats again on 900 posts! All the best for 900 more!

April 2nd, 2009 7:25 am
Congrats on 900!!! Wow!!! I love the last one, such a pretty color and pattern
April 2nd, 2009 7:33 am
Now we can play along with your blog at home!
I’m so sad I’d probably drown in the nurse dress, but that sherbet stripe dress is super cute.
April 2nd, 2009 12:23 pm
900 posts..! Wow, congratulations! I have my eye on the batik dress…
April 2nd, 2009 2:04 pm
I just love the white nurse dress. Wearing white is usually difficult to pull off, but the way you have belted the dress shows that it can be done and it can be a great look. The shape of the skirt is really chic, and it is transformed into a wrap dress by wearing a bigger size than needed.
It reminds me of when I was a kid and used to go to work with my glamourous auntie who was a dental nurse.
April 2nd, 2009 9:11 pm
What a lovely idea. You’ve got to be in to win….so my choice would be the batik one, the colour is stunning!
April 2nd, 2009 11:03 pm
I’d love the batik dress, and your figure!

I have been loving your blog for quite some time. I have been working on my own blog but am lacking the necessary ambition and unfortunately, time.
I adore what you have done with the white dress. I am a minor seamstress and could have a lot of fun with it.
Keep up the good work!
April 5th, 2009 12:59 am
Congrats on 900 posts! I’d love to be in the running for the batik dress, it’s gorgeous.
Cheers!

I love the beige sweater dress – dreaming up outfits now, it’s terrible isn’t it!
April 6th, 2009 12:51 am
I’m loving the beige sweater dress. The sleeves are just gorgeous. Congrats on the 900 posts.
PS – I’m pretty sure I have a dress exactly the same as the brown dress at the bottom.
April 6th, 2009 6:26 am
Congratulations on your 900th post! I so enjoy reading your blog, and I have to admit, I love the music posts at least as much as the outfit ones. (I’m Canadian too, but in Ontario, so when you mention that so-and-so is going to be playing, it’s a heads-up for me.)
The only dress I could possibly work into my personal style (and which wouldn’t make me look like a mushroom of some kind) is the brown one, so if there’s a contest, that’s my favourite.
Incidentally – I usually read this blog in IE (at w#rk, shhh!) and did you know that there’s something funny about the way it displays? Very often, the pictures and text float off to the right, and overlap your navigation column.
April 6th, 2009 1:43 pm
I would choose the last dress, the batik one. I’m trying to build up an arsenal of sundresses!
April 6th, 2009 1:46 pm
Lovin’ that Sherbet! Woohoo!
April 6th, 2009 3:20 pm
What a absolutely fabulous Idea. I love the brown dress. I was drawn to your blog because I read that you like to photograph yourself/outfits. I started doing this about 2 months ago. It has been a very telling experiment. Wonder if I will make it to 900 posts? You should be thrilled with yourself.
April 6th, 2009 4:10 pm
It is a hard choice between the ice cream colored stripes and the batik design, but I think, since I’m totally diggin pastels right now, I’d go with the very first. I am a sucker for stripes.
April 6th, 2009 10:44 pm
Congrats on reaching 900 posts! That’s amazing and thanks for the heads up on the contest too
I am loving that batik dress for its gorgeous color, amazing pattern, and sense of boho flair!
April 7th, 2009 9:18 am

I really like them all, but my favorites are the sherbet stripe dress and the tan sweater dress. Congrats on the 900 posts!
April 8th, 2009 7:36 am
As much as the white dress scares me, it’s absolutely stunning. You style it so well that it can’t help but look very sharp.
April 8th, 2009 9:39 am
Congratulations on the 900th post!!! I really love the tan sweater dress.
April 8th, 2009 9:43 am
Congrats on your 900th post! The nurse dress looks great with that red belt. Too bad I lost my thrifted red Danier belt sometime ago
April 8th, 2009 9:59 am
hey girl, thanks for your comment! i’m tooootally loving the sherbert striped dress. spring/summer’s coming up and the idea of going into forever21 and buying the same summer dresses that everybody else in nyc has makes me wanna cry! unforch on a limited budget, sometimes that’s what it comes to. major congrats on your 900th post!
April 8th, 2009 10:07 am
I LOVE the choices… Can I just say that I want the white nurse dress because it’s such a fabulous base to do so many things!!! It’s modest but chic and like a chameleon I can see so many looks with it.. You paired it nicely with the red belt (is that included?! lol… can’t hurt to ask…haha)I’ve been looking for a fun white dress and this fits the bill. Ohhh I love… My close favorite second is the sherbet dress which has colors that I think will pop nicely against my skin tone. Congrats on the 900th post!!!!
April 8th, 2009 10:53 am
Hi eyeliah, that’s really sweet of you to invite me to participate in this giveaway, yet, I have, as it is, a tone of dresses that I am not wearing as often as I should…
Oh and that brown one! you totally rock it! I’m surprised you’re giving it away!

April 8th, 2009 4:16 pm
k! batik dress! why? because the colors are vibrant and the pattern is hip-no-tize-n! that’s why! boomps.
April 8th, 2009 6:49 pm
OK, I’ve got my eye on the blue batik dress. The colours are great, I love the tie detail on the shoulder, and the shape of the skirt looks really flattering. Plus, it makes me think that summer really could be coming!
April 8th, 2009 8:02 pm
Thanks for your sweet comment! I love this contest! I have to say that I really like the blue batik one– I keep a coterie of outrageously psychedelic dresses for the hothot summer. Perfectly exemplifies brain-melting heat!
April 9th, 2009 7:50 am
